To educate themselves about the Communication Strategy of ERRA, a group of trainee officers from Information Service Academy Islamabad visited ERRA Headquarters on February 11, 2010. Deputy Director, Information Service Academy, M. Arshad Muneer, headed the group comprising 12 male and female trainee officers.

DG Planning II, Brig (R) Pervaiz Hayat Niazi briefed the visiting officers about the mission, role, mandate and functioning of ERRA and its affiliates, and the efforts ERRA is making to revive life in EQAAs. The guests were also apprised of the progress made so far, and the overall impact of ERRA’s interventions.

Lt Gen Sajjad Akram, Deputy Chairman ERRA, met the group after the briefing. A lively question answer session was held with the Deputy Chairman. Later on the group visited ERRA’s library, where Advisor KMC, Brig (R) Muhammad Asif informed the group about the efforts that ERRA is making to document its experiences and lessons learnt while managing the aftermath of earthquake of October 2008, to share this rare knowledge at national and international level. The group was presented copies of ERRA’s latest publications.

Later, the guests visited the Communication Wing, where Advisor Media, Ms. Shazia Haris, briefed them about the activities and responsibilities of ERRA’s Media Cell. Advisor Media also invited the guests to visit the earthquake affected areas to get first hand information about ERRA’s efforts and achievements.
